A Level English Literature Coursework 2025 Summer 2025
Your English Literature coursework is worth 20% of your A Level, yet it is the section that students often feel most alone.
In this 8 week programme, you will be held through the process of planning, reading, writing and refining to ensure you go from a blank page to a glowing first draft ready for the start of Year 13.
An 8 week course, getting you from a blank page to a first draft:
Week 1 - Coursework overview, A0'S, models and examiner reports. See the end products, understand what examiners are looking for and learn from other students.
Week 2 - Reading, tracking and analysing your texts. Learn how to approach your texts and track your thoughts through grids.
Week 3 - A05 workshop. Learn how to find, understand and use critics.
Week 4 - A03 workshop. Identify key A* context and how to integrate it perceptively into your work.
Week 5 - Planning and Comparison. Using all our previous work, create a comprehensive and detailed plan that is critical, perceptive and detailed.
Week 6 - A02 Workshop. Identify and closely analyse A* writers methods for your texts.
Week 7 - Introductions and Conclusions. Look at models, identify the core ingredients of effective introductions/conclusions and practise writing them.
Week 8- Editing and Peer Reviewing. Edit your work into a first draft and share your thoughts with your peers using a peer marking grid.
While this group is not exam board or text specific, Clem will set each student individual weekly tasks to complete to ensure their work is where you need it to be.
